Biography

In 2013 I started an outpatient practice in Harrisonburg to help patients achieve their mental health goals. Previously I practiced psychiatry at Rockingham Memorial Hospital for seven years where I had a rich and varied experience working in the inpatient service, the hospital psychiatric consultation service, the partial hospitalization program, and the outpatient practice. Prior to coming to Harrisonburg I practiced at a community mental health center in Lynchburg where my focus was caring for patients with serious mental illness.

I received my medical degree from the University of Virginia and then completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Health Center. Following this I completed an Occupational Medicine Residency and Epidemiology Fellowship at the Harvard School of Public Health, earning a Masters Degree in Public Health. After working for the Centers for Disease Control and Food and Drug Administration I completed a residency in Psychiatry, the field of medicine I truly love. My years of training and experience in Internal Medicine and Epidemiology enriched my understanding of the science and practice of Psychiatry.
